Victoria Park
Victoria Park is a well-maintained park situated in the heart of Nuwara Eliya. It is the perfect place for family outings where the tourists can enjoy watching exotic birds, and some rare flowering plants. The pretty flowers, serene ponds, and many other scenic spots in the park would also make it an excellent location for clicking beautiful photographs. Victoria Park is in the centre of the city of Nuwara Eliya. You need to pay an entrance fee before getting in. It is an ideal place for morning walks and picnics.

Pedro Tea Estate
The Pedro Tea Estate is a famous tea farm located about 3.5 kilometres away from the city of Nuwara Eliya. It is known for its cultivation of Pure Ceylon Tea, grown on the terraces of the Pidurutalagala mountain. You can visit the fields, and even pick some tea leaves with the help of the workers. There is an outdoor cafe as well, where you can sip on some quality Pure Ceylon tea, and even buy some to take home as souvenirs. Here, you get to visit the tea factory where the tea is processed and packed before exporting. The best time to visit the estate is either in the morning or after 2:00 PM.

Gregory Lake
Lake Gregory is a local reservoir situated in the city of Nuwara Eliya. It is a popular place for tourists to visit and enjoy some recreational activities. The lake was named after Sir William Gregory, in 1873, during the British era. Tourists can roam around the lake with the help of boats available for hire. This lake acts as the perfect picnic spot and tourists can also explore the lake by hiring bicycles. The best time to visit this lake is during April.

Located at a distance of 3km from the Nuwara Eliya, The Galway's Land National Park is one of the few well-known national parks in the city, even if it is one of the smallest ones. The park consists of many exotic birds and animals, coexisting to form biodiversity. The park opens up early in the morning to aid birdwatchers.

Hakgala Gardens
The Hakgala Botanical Garden is the second largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka. It is a part of the Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve and was established in 1861. It has a wide variety of plants and some exotic animal species with the entire garden divided into different sections, dedicated to different plant species, like ferns, cacti, orchids, etc. It is situated on the Badulla Highway and is about 5 kilometres away from the city of Nuwara Eliya. It is said that the Hakgala Gardens was in fact, 'Ashok Vatika'', from the Hindu epic 'The Ramayana''. Since these gardens are on an elevated ground, the climate mostly ranges from cool to moderately hot.

Seeta Amman Temple
The Seetha Amman Temple is a small temple located in the village of Seetha Eliya in Sri Lanka. It is about a kilometre away from the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, and about 5 to 6 kilometres away from the central city of Nuwara Eliya. It is a shrine for Sita Devi, the daughter of Mother Earth and wife of Lord Rama, from the Ramayana. The temple is built on the site where Sita Devi was believed to be kept as a prisoner by King Ravana. The temple premises also has Lord Hanuman's footprints and the river Seetha from where different deities were recovered.

Moon Plains
Moon Plains, also known as Sandathanne, was recently opened to the public in 2014 and has readily become one of the most loved biodiversity spots for travelers. Earlier it used to be a garbage dump area which has now been converted into a park. Moon Plains is situated 6 km away from the main city of Nuwara Eliya.

Ambewela Farm
The farm, also known as New Zealand farm, is a hub of organic countryside activities in the pristine landscape of Ambewela hill station. The lush green fields, rugged mountains, and the bright blue sky gives Ambewela the title of 'Little New Zealand'. The drive is a pleasant one, with scenic views of vegetable farms, lakes and forests. A famous attraction in this area is World's End, which is a cliff with an immense depth of more than 1200 metres. This thrilling spot is often used by visitors to click pictures.
